{"id":2233,"date":"2013-02-27T11:12:19","date_gmt":"2013-02-27T11:12:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sharksdinner.ch\/?p=2233"},"modified":"2013-02-27T11:12:19","modified_gmt":"2013-02-27T11:12:19","slug":"a-green-star","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sharksdinner.ch\/?p=2233","title":{"rendered":"A Green Star"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Every year Pantone chooses a colour of the year and this year they&#8217;ve chosen Emerald.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.asquaredw.com\/2013\/01\/2013-pantone-quilt-challenge-emerald.html\" target=\"_blank\">Ali of a\u00b2(w)<\/a>\u00a0has organised an Emerald Quilt Challenge over on <a title=\"Pantone 2013: Emerald Quilt Challenge\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/groups\/2157333@N23\/discuss\/72157632353349606\/\" target=\"_blank\">flickr<\/a> and after seeing many lovely green works of art I decided to enter as well.<\/p>\n<p>Off to the drawing board I went (literally) and designed an EPP star.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/sharksdinner.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/IMG_0628.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-2235\" alt=\"EPP Star\" src=\"https:\/\/sharksdinner.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/IMG_0628-1024x1024.jpg\" width=\"620\" height=\"620\" \/><\/a>It sparked quite a bit of interest on Instagram which I was rather surprised about. When I was asked to share the templates I decided that I will put the pattern on the blog as a free download. I&#8217;m just tweaking it at the moment to make sure every piece fits together nicely. I had a bit of a problem with the grey oblong hexagons (I&#8217;m sure they have a proper name) which are number five in the drawing. Hence the waviness in the last picture. I hope that it&#8217;ll disappear once it&#8217;s quilted.<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, all greens can be used in the Pantone challenge although the focus should be on emerald green if possible. Furthermore, neutrals and one more colour can be added.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/sharksdinner.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/IMG_0661.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-2236\" alt=\"Greens\" src=\"https:\/\/sharksdinner.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/IMG_0661-1024x1024.jpg\" width=\"620\" height=\"620\" \/><\/a>I mostly used the greens I got in the <a title=\"Sew Solids Crew Stash Club\" href=\"http:\/\/simplysolids.co.uk\/product-category\/sew-solids-crew-stash-club\/\" target=\"_blank\">Sew Solids Crew Stash Club<\/a> and added just one polka dot print in the mix to lighten it up a bit.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/sharksdinner.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/IMG_0700.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-2237\" alt=\"Confucius\" src=\"https:\/\/sharksdinner.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/IMG_0700-1024x1024.jpg\" width=\"620\" height=\"620\" \/><\/a>Confucius to add a bit of wisdom.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/sharksdinner.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/IMG_0712.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-2238\" alt=\"R\u00e9alt Glas\" src=\"https:\/\/sharksdinner.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/IMG_0712-1024x1024.jpg\" width=\"620\" height=\"620\" \/><\/a>And a lot of grey to add some class. I like the way it has turned out. All that is left for me to do is appliqu\u00e9 it to the background, quilt it, bind it and enter it into the flickr pool.
