Temperature

I have so many different projects in my head and can’t wait to spend a little time at the sewing machine. However,  a poorly husband and child mean that I don’t get much done.

Yesterday afternoon was mostly spent in front of the TV with Little Miss Bossy-Boots. Playgroup rang to say she was running a temperature and could I please come and pick her up. The poor child really didn’t feel well and even refused a packet of crisps. So we sat down and watched “Peppa Pig” and “Ben and Holly’s Little Kingdom” all afternoon. After a while I felt my mind drift, thinking of a bag and quilt I want to make. Continue reading Temperature

Fairies and Lilac

Master, Little Miss Bossy-Boots and I duly went to the fabric shop to buy some fabric for the bean bag. I had visions of crisp stripes, funky dots or a gorgeous floral and was really excited. Sadly, I had to tell her that she couldn’t use that material as it was just too thin and wouldn’t survive as a bean bag cover for very long. I tried to steer her toward a gorgeous pink, white and green stripe that would look really good in her room but she took one look and rejected it straightaway. A few years ago I bought two bags of polystyrene “beans” to make a bed for our dog Aron. The bed was duly made, filled and rejected. So, out came the polystyrene and in went the hollowfibre filling. Hey, presto! Aron has loved his bed ever since. The polystyrene beads ended up in the attic before being moved to the garage when we moved house. Master has been asking me periodically to get rid of them but I knew they would come in handy one day (I admit I am a bit of a hoarder).
